La France reconnait la portée du port marocain de Tanger-Med

But as for mobile operators, the rates are not clear at first glance with reservation platforms that look very similar (especially for Spanish companies) to those of airlines.

Some companies are inspired by this pricing, such as AML which chooses to adjust its rates according to busy periods, in August for example, while others prefer a stable pricing as is the case for FRS.

Tanger Med seeks to expand facilities, limit congestion

Ro-ro traffic shows a better growth rate, of 12%, and some 90,000 trucks handled during the first quarter. This performance is explained by the fact that the truck remains the preferred means of transport for Moroccan exporters and its use is benefiting from the development of new export sectors, particularly in the automotive industry.

For the passenger activity, the eight berths on 35 hectares had a 12% decrease in traffic compared to the first quarter of 2017, for a total of 373,343 passengers.

Behind this poor performance are the poor weather conditions marked by strong winds and heavy rains, which slowed the rate of maritime connections between the two shores of the Mediterranean. The new port has 1,677 meters of protection and protection facilities, 2537 meters of berths, 11 hectares of ponds and 12 hectares of flat land.
