King Mohammed VI on Thursday inaugurated the new fishing port and seaport, the two flagship projects under the integrated program for the re-employment of the Tangier-Madinah port area, which has attracted investments of 6.2 billion dirhams.

The completion of these two new generation projects reflects the King's keenness to promote the city of Tangier as a preferred destination for cruise and leisure tourism internationally and in the Mediterranean basin in particular, and his determination to work to improve the conditions of fishing operators by enabling them on the same site Of modern equipment that responds to their needs.

The new fishing port in Tangier, which will cost a total of MAD 1.189 million, will provide an appropriate framework for fishing professionals. It will also enable the development of the sector in addition to contributing to the recovery of investments and the creation of additional jobs.

The new port has 1,677 meters of protection and protection facilities, 2537 meters of berths, 11 hectares of ponds and 12 hectares of flat land. It also contains various essential equipment for its proper functioning, especially ice-cold and cold storage rooms, a unified fund management unit, ship and seafarers' warehouse stores, traditional fishing and coastal fishing shops, high seas fishing, Repair workshops and administrative facilities.

The coastal fishing and fishing center on the high seas, the cornerstone of this port, built on a 5,000-meter plot of land in the center of this port, includes a cooled display and sale space, a reception room, a product and distribution room, , Fish products reception desk, veterinary office.

The objective of this marketing infrastructure is to improve the quality and value of these products, to ensure the smoothness and transparency of commercial transactions, and to develop activities related to sea fishing within the region.

Their construction is based on three main principles, aimed at maintaining quality, separating the path of people from the path of fish (separation of flows), adopting the one-way compulsory route principle, the principle of walking forward, and monitoring heat in refrigerated sales spaces.

Built to the most stringent international quality standards, this room is equipped with technologies that automate the overall sales process, and enhance the speed and transparency of processes that ensure accurate product follow-up.

The new fishing port in Tangier, with a strong socio-economic dimension, will provide industry professionals with a modern infrastructure that will enable them to improve their living conditions on the one hand and to value their products as well as high seas fishing platforms (unloading and stopping during biological breaks) A ship-repair zone for traditional and coastal fishing units equipped with ship landing equipment, as well as transport and manufacturing workshops, electromechanics and electronics.

In addition, the King inaugurated another landmark project, Tangier Marina Bay, which was completed with a total investment of MAD 635 million and provides important infrastructure for cruise enthusiasts wishing to discover the magic of the Bogaz capital.

The leisure port, which includes 800 berths ranging from 7 to 90 meters long and 600 berths, will be established in the second part of the port, which is located in the middle of the Gulf, with the largest number of boat berths in the Kingdom. .

Marina, an entertainment and leisure space, also includes dining and entertainment areas, a 435-seat covered parking area, a sea club, a fuel station and shops, as well as other facilities and services for cruise enthusiasts.
