The German car wiring group Kromberg & Schubert officially inaugurated this Tuesday in Kenitra a new factory, made for an investment of 450 million dirhams which should generate more than 3,000 jobs.
The opening ceremony of the subsidiary of the German firm, located in the Atlantic Free Zone Kenitra, was attended by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Digital Economy, Moulay Hafid Elalamy, Minister Energy, Mines and Sustainable Development, Aziz Rebbah, Minister of Employment and Occupational Integration, Mohamed Yatim, and CEO of the German equipment manufacturer Hans-Otto Kromberg. Located on an area of 27,000 m2, the plant that meets international standards of industrial excellence is specialized in the manufacture of electrical harnesses used to equip the automotive industry.
This project, part of the Industrial Acceleration Plan (PAI), reinforces and densifies the "cabling" ecosystem, particularly through the diversification of ecosystem players and the achievement of a turnover of around 20%. billion dirhams.
The investment, which is seen as promising for the automotive industry, is reflected in a strong move upmarket and reflects the determination of management to best meet the needs of its customers by reinforcing its industrial proximity, according to the Ministry of Finance. industry, commerce and the digital economy.
Since the launch of this project, nearly 40 million euros have been invested in the Kromberg & Schubert Kenitra site, an investment that has notably focused on the building, the purchase of the technical equipment necessary for the manufacture of automotive wiring and the layout of the workspaces. Kromberg & Schubert is a world leader in the manufacture of wiring and harnesses for the automotive industry. Its Moroccan subsidiary, founded in 2016, is already one of the major players in the national industrial fabric.
